Introduction

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Fifth Annual Scientific Meeting of the European Primary Care Cardiovascular Society (EPCCS) to be held on September 6-7, 2012 in Athens, Greece.
With the increasing role of primary care physicians, as well as practice nurses, in addressing the burden of cardiovascular disease, it is of increasing importance to expand educational activities of the EPCCS.

The leading pan European platform for Primary Care & CV Disease

It is the ambition of the society to further grow the number of attendees over the upcoming years and to expand its activities in order to accomplish its important mission that is focussed on the important role of primary care physicians in addressing the growing burden of cardiovascular disease.

Following the success and positive feedback from participants, faculty and sponsors on our initial meetings the EPCCS board is convinced our Annual Scientific Meeting will become the leading pan-European platform with a particular focus on cardiovascula disease that will specifically meet the educational and information needs of GPs, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Clinical Master Class

The 2012 EPCCS Annual scientific meeting will consist of a Clinical Masterclass where key areas in cardiovascular disease will be addressed such as: hypertension, lipid management, heart failure, obesity & cardiometabolic disease, diabetes, multiple risk management, lifestyle and guidelines.


Abstracts

The 2012 meeting will also include presentations and publications of original scientific papers and also smaller interactive working group sessions.
